Disclaim the<\/strong><strong> inheritance<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The heirs are not only entitled to the estate but also to disclaim the inheritance. Article 620.1 of the 2015 Civil Code stipulates:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>&#8220;<\/em><em>1<\/em><em>. The heir <\/em><em>is entitled to<\/em> <em>disclaim <\/em><em>the estate unless the <\/em><em>disclaimer<\/em><em> is aimed at evading the performance of his\/her property obligations towards another person.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\" start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Disclaiming the inheritance shall<\/em><em> be made in writing and sent to the administrator of the estate, other heirs and the person <\/em><em>authorized to distribute<\/em><em> the estate for information.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Disclaiming the inheritance<\/em> <em>shall<\/em><em> be shown <\/em><em>prior to the<\/em> <em>distribution of<\/em><em> estate\u201d.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">*** Previously, pursuant to the Civil Code 2005, the time limit for disclaiming the inheritance was 06 months from the date of opening the inheritance (the time of opening the inheritance is the time when the owner of the inheritance is deceased).
